Добавлен 16 фев 2017
Memoirs of WWII is a short film series dedicated to preserving the history of the Second World War and the memory of those who served. The series will bring this important part of our history to life by relaying true, personal stories through quality production and compelling narrative.
Through the personal accounts of real life World War II veterans, our goal is to honor their sacrifice, and to grant younger generations an understanding of what it was like to live through the war and what lessons can be learned from it.

Pearl harbor and D-Day? God bless sir, two unimaginable events in one man's timeline is leaving me dumbfounded..the horrors this hero carried would've broken most I'm sure
I am a retired Lieutenant Colonel. My father was on a ship to invade Japan and wound up as part of the occupation force. I hate War but I hate lust for power, evil, greed, and cowardice even more. If you can't think of anything worth dying for then you have no life already.
thank you for your service im sure you get this a lot,,, im 69 a canadian ,my grandfather was a pow for 2 yrs i know what you guys went thru,, god bless
What a story! Bless this old timer, and thank you for your service!
God bless you soldier !
He is German Wehrmacht and he is criminal, stop saying that Wehrmacht was different than SS , only their uniforms were different while their mind and target was always same!!
It was real in my mind
I love these stories from the German perspective, we tend to only think about our side's experiences but there are many stories to be heard from all sides. These are great videos to be treasured.
My grandpa was a WW2 machine gunner for the United States army out of New York. He was wounded twice and received a 💜. He fought in the liberation of France on Normandy beach. William Raistrick 🙏🙏🙏 Passed away around 1991 or 1992.
Absolutely incredible. Comes home from war, and can't get in a bar. "Wasn't old enough."
God Bless him and all the veterans
All because he got knocked down, he has descendants and he's telling this story right now. Love to all and may God bless you in the almighty name of Yeshua ha'Moshiach, amen ❤ Call on Him and He will answer. He is the way, the truth and the life. He DIED for YOU so that YOU may have ETERNAL LIFE with ☀️HIM.☀️ I am spreading the love of our messiah by sending love to you. ❤ All praise to our Heavenly Father 🌅✝️🦁🐑🙌👏🙏🤲🛐☀️
Praise God
my respect to this man.
What an American legend. This man is Captain America
Now, its almost not admirable to serve in the military with all the SATANIC brainwashing of the Troops. DEI, RACE BATING , all that crap the DEVIL has made up to confuse Godly people.
I never knew that my Uncle Don served in WWII. I guess it's not something he wanted to share with his family. God bless you Uncle Don. ❤❤
❤️. Those who do not learn from history, are doomed to repeat it ! We are at the defining moment….VOTE BLUE !!
My grandfather fought in WW2 and my great-grandfather fought in WW1 both made it back. I have 9 uncles and great-uncles, as my grandmother and a female cousin fought in the wars.
ask yourself if you're someone worth their sacrifice and if not become someone worth it
Are you an person worth these heroes sacrifice?
God bless❤
God bless
You will live among your brothers again. Peace through strength 💪💪🇺🇸🇺🇸
We will never see this generation again 😢
God had the plan for your life. Thank God for these heroes.
Respect!
Thanks for your service 🙏
It’s sad that I found out about this story through the movie Jaws. Why did the US wait 5 days to get these men? Why did they wait two weeks to announce the sinking of the USS Indianapolis? Why did they court marshal Cpt. Mcvay? Why did they let Mcvay go without treatment until his suicide? I am an American loving citizen but I’m awfully ashamed of my Gov to be truthful. God bless this man and all the hero’s of the USS Indianapolis. 🙏🏼
He's such a fantastic storyteller! He's so youthful -- you'd never guess he'd been in WWII!
What a fascinating experience! My grandfather was at Leyte, too, as a medic. Its stunning to know he saw things like this. The end of Mr. Samas' story is so incredible -- to sit down with a man he crossed paths with decades earlier -- truly amazing.
Hait! Hitler!
precious man -- he was born the same year as my grandmother and lived thirty years longer than she did. What I wouldn't give to sit down and talk to him!
This man could be portrayed perfectly by Tom Hanks -- they have the same exact smiling eyes.
What an absolute doll of a man. Still smiling even as he recounts almost being mowed down. My god. My grandfather was a medic in the Pacific for four years. He died when I was eleven and I had no idea the kind of experiences he must've had. You'd never have known he'd been in war -- just like this man, he was the sweetest person in the world. It almost makes me wonder if they had a sense about which guys would be the best medics -- which would be the most kind, the most loving, the most compassionate. They picked exactly that when they chose my grandfather for that job. It also makes me wonder if medics had the advantage as veterans in that...they were there to help people survive in the moment, rather than being there to kill the enemy. Maybe you come home feeling like you at least did something positive...I don't know. I don't doubt that the horrors still stick with you; that there's survivor's guilt just like anyone else would have...but I wonder if there's any solace in being tasked with saving people in war vs killing.
What an incredible man. My grandfather was on Luzon -- he was an army medic. I can't even begin to imagine the things they would've seen. I didn't even know how extensive his time there had been. These videos give me the tiniest glimpse into what he might've gone through.
My greatuncle was in the war, around the same areas, I believe. He talked about how they came across of German soldiers. When the soldiers saw the Americans, they surrendered immediately. My greatuncle saw that they were young kids -- young teenagers. They cried when they saw the Americans -- they were farm boys, just like he was; they were hungry and scared. My greatuncles unit took their guns and then fed them.
My grandfather was a medic in the Pacific. He died when I was eleven. Hearing men of this generation speak always makes me think of both of my grandfathers (the other died the same year). It hurts to see these voices slipping away. I'm so grateful for these videos -- they'll preserve a small piece of the incredible legacy they've left behind. Hearing him talk about how his medic being killed the next day...I still can't even begin to imagine the things he must've seen. This sweet man reminds me of my OTHER grandfather -- an old school Sicilian man from the Northeast. Gotta love them.
This gentleman is a hero. He will live forever as such. God bless you and all of your family members.
And still, do we learn????
I am speechless..the tears are flowing.
Hitler was a Demon lying peace of SHIT killing Gods People like he did
I honor you Sir you had a soul of a Lion
He come over here probably as a prisoner and was shipped to south Louisiana to work on a sugar cane farm lol
One badass dude
I wonder what his perspective is on the events of Oct 7th. He’s right that history is repeating.
True American hero much respect
The music is not necessary. Makes an important account of history impossible to watch without muting.
This is sad I was about to cry , War is terrible and every nation in the world needs to know that. most leaders are just selfish and can’t think what’s right. We need to stop wars , not only people are dying but the planet is too
Doesn't like the memories but joined the American Army?
